Brian Dodd

Prior to becoming an Owner/Managing Partner of QBT Companies in April of 2016, Brian Dodd accumulated 20 years of professional experience in architecture, construction, development, and financing, while establishing relationships with leading green technology and industry as well as some of the largest construction companies in the world.

Mr. Dodd attended Kansas State University, majoring in Construction Science & Management, with a minor in Architecture. Prior to graduation, several large firms heavily recruited Mr. Dodd across the country. In 1997, he began his career with Hensel Phelps Construction Co., the 19th largest building contractor in the United States and 84th largest in the world, as ranked by Engineering News Record (ENR) in 2009. During his eight-year career at Hensel Phelps, Mr. Dodd played a vital role in the completion of numerous large construction projects, totaling more than half-a-billion dollars. These included several high-rise condominiums, office buildings, expansive retail facilities, maximum-security correctional facilities, and the Denver Convention Center. Mr. Dodd served on the Board of Directors of the Future Leaders of the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC).

In 2004, Mr. Dodd took the skills he had acquired at Hensel Phelps and founded B. Dodd Construction, Inc. & Dodd Custom Homes. In an effort to separate the companies from the competition, he directed the focus on “green building practices” from the start, well ahead of trend. Dodd Custom Homes was the first contractor in the City of Denver to complete a custom home using the latest green products, including Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) and Structurally Insulated Panel Systems (SIPS). With Mr. Dodd at the helm, the two companies completed a variety of projects ranging from large commercial buildings to multi-million-dollar custom homes.  In addition to construction, he played a vital role in the development of numerous residential subdivisions designed for more than 200 homes. Using his architecture training and skills, he personally designed several multi-million-dollar custom homes. Mr. Dodd currently holds seven Class-A General Contractors licenses throughout Colorado.

In 2007, Mr. Dodd crossed over to the development arena. His company purchased land, designed homes, and constructed an infill subdivision in Fraser, Colorado. In addition to his own development interests, Mr. Dodd served as a hired consultant on many commercial and residential development and construction projects. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Mead Area Chamber of Commerce from 2010-2012.
